Jungle fun

Hey guys and gals -- OK, I'm actually on Koh Samui now. I have so many fun details to fill in from partying in Bangkok, but i'll have to do that next time I'm online. I've also got some awesome pics, but you may have to wait till I get to Sydney for those.

I just got to Samui last night after flying down from Bangkok, which I was sad to leave. I didn't really now what to expect, but I LOVE Bangkok it's such a cool city.

So far Samui seems really touristy, a bit like the Costa Del Sol with tacky neon signs lining the beaches of Chaweng, the biggest town.

The jungle bungalows that I'm staying in are truly amazing though! You have to call for the hotel to send a four-wheel drive vehicle down the mountain to come and collect you, so they are pretty isolated. Perfect place for lots of r&r - the pool area is stunning. My comfy bungalow is pretty open to the elements ! I had to tuck my mosquito net in tight last night to protect against stealth attacks from bats, lizards and other fauna. It really is in the jungle. A frog was croaking at me, as i sipped my margerita...

Tomorrow I'm taking a day trip to Ang Thong Marine National Park to go snorkelling, kayaking, trek into the jungle, ride elephants etc. Wish me luck! Thursday I'm heading on to Ko Pha Ngan for the Black Moon party, but i'll be in touch again before then -- J
